Created to accompany the exhibition of the same name at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris (March 9 – September 16, 2012), the Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs book from Rizzoli is a fascinating publication that presents the roles two men have played in turning a small workshop in nineteenth-century Paris into one of the most successful and recognized brands in the world. By examining two divergent but often similar careers one hundred years apart, Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs is not only a layered study of the evolution of a luxury brand in the past 150 years but also a celebration of technical and design innovations in the new century. This wonderful exploration can be purchased at Rizzoli for $75 USD.

Continuing to stay in line with the late Alexander McQueen’s forward-thinking and conceptual approach to fashion, the latest footwear option to be released from the designer’s collaborative team up with PUMA comes in the form of the Dextral Mid for Spring/Summer 2012. Drawing inspiration from McQueen’s “Fight or Flight” theme, the shoes are a perfect embodiment of combined style and comfort as it sports an artistic eagle print across its leather upper with a full leather lining and a sports-centric lightweight rubber tooling. A signature Alexander McQueen embellishment sees its way on the shoe’s heel portion, while a co-branded silver tag on the tongue rounds out the design. Now available throughout select PUMA stockists.
